February 2008 Judy Hardman Shetland Fleece

Shetland fleecesJudy brought with her a variety of Shetland fleeces.HAIRY FLEECE

She showed us rough hairy bits from the back end that is turned to face the weather.

Judy explains about shetland fleeceJudy tests a lock of fleeceShe showed us how to test a lock of fleece to see if it had a weak point and would break into two separate years growth.
Crimpy fleeceDifferent colours of fleece fade to different colours with the weather.
Val wears  Koolaid dyed woolVal was looking fetching in her woolly knitted with wool she has dyed with koolaid.
