Judy brought with her a variety of Shetland fleeces. HAIRY FLEECE

She showed us rough hairy bits from the back end that is turned to face the weather.

She showed us how to test a lock of fleece to see if it had a weak point and would break into two separate years growth.

Different colours of fleece fade to different colours with the weather.

Val was looking fetching in her woolly knitted with wool she has dyed with koolaid.

She says if you can get Koolaid without sugar your wool doesn't get as sticky as it goes with the sugared type!
